These projects were built to furnish my home, as prototypes for my custom furniture, and for the purpose of learning my way around the shop, as I began putting my work space together.

Some of these projects were built with written plans, while others were designed on the fly, using photograph and video sources as reference, for measurements and relative dimensions. I enjoy working with fir and pine for the way they respond to charring and some of my shop-made, wood coloring techniques.

Finishes and colorants I have used include: surface charring, shop made iron acetate, coffee & black tea, Minwax stain, TransTint dyes, India ink, Odie's Oil, Rubio Monocoat, Total Boat Wood Honey, shop made garnet shellac, lacquer and water based polycrylic.
